Photographer Captures Black Panther On Camera For The First Time In 100 Years

Wildlife photographer Will Burrard-Lucas hit the wildlife photography jackpot by snapping photos of the world’s rarest black panther during a trip to Laikipia Wilderness Camp in Kenya.

There are claims this is the first time anyone has captured a melanistic leopard on camera in Africa in 100 years. Very few images of these iconic, secretive creatures exist.

The black panther is a general term used for any large black cat, although in Africa the term is reserved for the magnificent black leopard. They are not a specific breed, but instead a melanistic leopard.
